Disney fans drooled when the company revealed a new Disney Store concept in New York’s Times Square last year. Now Orlando has a storefront all its own. The new store opened Wednesday at the Florida Mall. The store includes what Disney dubs “immersive experiences” like a Disney princess castle with a magic mirror, magic trees that change with the seasons, and the Disney Store Theatre, which features the company’s latest entertainment.
The first 250 shoppers got free Mickey ears Wednesday. Disney is donating 10 percent of Wednesday’s sales to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Disney is hosting an opening ceremony for the public on Saturday starting at 10 a.m. Disney says Buzz, Woody and Jesse from “Toy Story” will be on hand from noon to 4 p.m.
