Congratulations to the cast and crew of “La Nouba,” the resident Cirque du Soleil production at Downtown Disney. The show marked it’s 6,000th performance at its 6 p.m. Saturday show this weekend. To put that in perspective, that’s more performances than such Broadway hits as “Miss Saigon,” “Mamma Mia!” and “Rent.”
The show opened in its distinctive white circus-tent building at Walt Disney World’s Downtown Disney in December of 1998. That means it will celebrate its 13th birthday at the end of this year.
The Cirque team passes along these facts to help commemorate its anniversary:
- There is one artist who has been here since creation who has never missed a show.
- A third of the cast is original to the show.
- There are 478 performances per year.
