Author, naturalist Bill Belleville to speak at Urban ReThink

Author and documentary filmmaker Bill Belleville will show images of the natural world and read from his new book of essays, “Salvaging the Real Florida: Lost & Found in the State of Dreams,” on Monday, Aug. 22. The presentation will be from 7-9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22,  at Urban ReThink, 625 E. Central Blvd., Orlando.

Belleville’s book was released earlier this summer by UPF. The Florida Book Review wrote of it: “This is a smart, knowing collection that sheds light on Florida’s lesser-known natural wonders. Belleville takes the reader to places that most people figure are already gone. He reminds us that all is not lost; there are places worth being found. We only have to know where and how to look.”

Belleville has been invited to be a presenter in the prestigious Miami International Book Festival later in November, and just recently was honored with the “Marjory Stoneman Douglas” award for environmental writing from the statewide Florida Lake Management Society.
