Titusville Reinvents City After Shuttle Retirement

History was made in front of hundreds of eyes at the Space View Park minutes after shuttle Atlantis lifted off on Friday. Unfortunately, many locals did not want it to end, “We know we are part of history, and that can’t be taken away,” said Titusville Mayor Jim Tulley. Tulley also said that his town will be OK, and he has a long list of reasons to prove it. “Titusville is the only city on the planet that has two airports, two golf courses, two hall of fames, the Space Museum and the nation’s largest helicopter training facility,” Tulley said. A quick revival is not what the community needs; rather, it needs to reinvent itself, which Tulley said it has been doing.
