Orlando is scheduled to get a new corporate headquarters later this year, when Marriott International Inc. becomes the first major hotel operator to spin off its time-share division into a separate company. The Marriott Vacation Club International will be renamed Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corp., and will be the first large, publicly traded company focused almost exclusively on selling time shares. Most importantly, it gives institutional and individual investors a chance to buy directly into an industry that has grown up largely in Central Florida.
