Huge Orange developments may be revived

In Orlando, a more growth-friendly Orange County Commission is currently considering whether or not to revive two massive development proposals in the sensitive Econlockhatchee River region. Both plans were previously voted down last year.
The first plan is Innovation Way East, a 6,343-home project that also includes 2.2 million square feet of research, office and retail space. The other is Rybolt Park, and is a 5,000-unit proposal with similar commercial designs, which also calls for a two-lane bridge over the Econ, a protected Outstanding Florida Water body.
