Magical comeback against the Heat

The Magic were down by 24 points to Miami in the third quarter when they went on an amazing 40-9 run over the next 15 minutes and stunned the Heat 99-96. It is the second largest comeback in Orlando franchise history and matched the second biggest in the NBA this season. The historic comeback effort was lead by Jason Richardson, who scored 24 points, 11 of which sparked Orlando’s burst of points. The outburst turned a 73-49 deficit into an 89-82 lead. “Well, that defies explanation,” Magic coach Stan Van Gundy said.
This is becoming a bad habit for the Miami Heat, who continue to squander big lead after big lead, including two consecutive games at home. Thursday night’s 22 point collapse against the Magic follows a 15 point collapse against the Knicks this past Sunday. All-Star Forward LeBron James acknowledges the issue, “We continue to get big leads and we continue to falter,” James said. “Hopefully we can figure it out soon.”
