Magic defeat Knicks behind Howard and Nelson

The Knicks have made themselves possible contenders by adding Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups, but the new look team from up north are still no match for the Orlando Magic. To be fair, New York has had less than a week to mesh with one another, but they still could not withstand the fourth quarter onslaught by Dwight Howard and Jameer Nelson. In the end it was Magic 116, Knicks 110, with Dwight Howard scoring 30 points and pulling down 17 rebounds and Nelson scoring 26 points with 23 of them coming in the second half. The Knicks big 3 of Anthony, Billups and Amar’e Stoudemire scored a total of 85 points but without any depth or size they could not compete with Orlando’s balanced attack. The Magic increased their record to 39-22 and currently sit in 5th place in the Eastern Conference, 1 spot ahead of the Knicks.
