Florida State keeps up their surprising run

If you were surprised when Florida State won their first round game against Georgetown then you were down right shocked Sunday night when they routed 2 seed Notre Dame by the score of 71-57. The Irish could never get into a rhythm from behind the 3 point line and fell victim to FSU’s smothering defense and dominant rebounding. The biggest surprise of the night came from the offensive effort put forth by the 10th-seeded Seminoles. They buried seven 3 pointers in the first half and led the Fighting Irish by as much as 23 points. Four Seminole players finished in double figures as they sent the Irish back home to South Bend, Indiana. FSU will now head to San Antonio for their sweet 16 matchup with Virginia Commonwealth who blew out the Purdue Boilermakers earlier in the evening.
