Kissimmee Police are searching for teenagers who were involved in what is being referred to as a “suspicious incident,” where a chemical agent was released inside a yogurt shop. The police arrived at Menchies Yogurt, located at 2617 West Osceola Parkway where they met the manager who told them that a strange and very pungent chemical smell prompted everyone in the yogurt shop to begin coughing. One of the customers even fainted and another was taken to a hospital because of the effects of the chemical. Neither customer had any long term or serious injuries and the store was evacuated.
When reviewing the surveillance video, officers observed five teenagers, four girls and one boy, standing by the yogurt machines. “They were like giggling and doing some spray motions,” said store manager Dan Jones. “One of them actually bent down and sprayed like this,” he gestured near the cash register,. “and then they walked over to this other area and looked like they were spraying something, looking back over their shoulder,” he told us, pointing to the yogurt machines. Anyone with information about the suspects or the incident is asked to contact the Kissimmee Police Department at 407-846-3333 or CRIMELINE at 1-800-423-TIPS.
