Magic top 76ers thanks to Howard’s free throws

The Orlando Magic outlasted the Philadelphia 76ers Wednesday by the final score of 99-95. They have been dominant against the Sixers recently having won 14 of the last 16 and 5 in a row on Philadelphia’s home court. All Star Center Dwight Howard was the high man in the game scoring 30 points and pulling down 17 rebounds. The biggest weapon in Howard’s arsenal tonight was an unlikely one, the free throw. He went 14 of 19 from the free throw line, a massive upgrade from the previous two meetings where he went 20 of 39. “The big difference is Howard stepped to the line and made his free throws,” Sixers coach Doug Collins said. “You have to give him credit.” The 34-20 Magic head back home to meet the New Orleans Hornets on Friday and currently sit tied for second in the SouthEast division.
