The Magic continued their struggles against the Boston Celtics on Sunday as the fell 91-80 in the TD Garden in Boston, MA. “Not even close, not even in the same ballpark as these guys,” Van Gundy said, when asked about the gap between his Magic and the Celtics. “We can be, but we’re not right now. I think that showed today.” Dwight Howard led the way for the Magic with 28 points but it was not enough to keep up with Boston’s big four of Rajon Rondo, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen. Rondo scored 26 points to go along with 7 assists, while Garnett, Pierce and Allen added 16, 18 and 11 respectively. A long term issue for the magic is Howard’s technical foul count. He picked up his 14th on Sunday, which is two short of serving a one-game suspension. After the suspension, there will be additional suspensions for every 2 technicals given. The Magic are currently 32-20 and sitting in 3rd place in their division and 5th overall in the Eastern Conference. Their next game is Tuesday night at 7pm against the Clippers at the Amway Center.
