Is your TV super enough for the Super Bowl?

As we all know, this Sunday is the Super Bowl and arguably the most important TV viewing day of the year. Conveniently, this is also the best time to buy a brand new flat screen television. At local Best Buys they have up to 40 percent off LCDTVs, while Sears are offering 50 inch Panasonic and Zenith plasma TVs for just $600. These deals are going on because there are more advertised TVs left over from Christmas that never sold. “This year, they had so many of them because retailers didn’t want to advertise them and not have them,” says consumer expert Brit Beemer, “so this year you have a lot of promotional TV sets out there. ” The reason for the lack of sales is that 70 percent of households already have flat screen TVs and therefore have no need to go out and buy a new one. Retailers have to sell them by April, because May is when they get their new shipments.
